Prince Siddhartha who came to be popularly known as Gautam Buddha was the enlightened one. Apart from being the founder of Buddhism, very little is known about his life.
For instance, despite certain debates related to his existence, people believe that he lived, taught and founded a monastic order during the ‘Mahajanapada’ era during the reign of Bimbisara (c. 558 – c. 491 BCE).
He also believed that there are some things, which cannot be learnt, and some things, which cannot be taught. To learn the things, which he wanted to propagate, a person needs to have a pure mind and heart.
